I love this soap, I did a version of it not long ago. That past version was rather low grade. I was playing with an idea. Often, this is what we artists do. We first sketch it out in a lesser material then, when we know what we want we go back with the finest of ingredients and we repeat the project. This project is just such a project. I have filled it with every beautiful fancy ingredient that feeds the skin that I could think of. The result is this. They smell beautiful, a scent pulled directly from the Tennyson poem, and the base made from all good things that nurture the skin. I have even sussed out our packaging. I am very pleased with the result.
I wish I could say we were spending today at some romantic little B&B somewhere by the ocean or in the mountains, but we are not. We are sitting here, working side by side on our respective projects. Me, on Cafe Primrose, my husband, on some videos for my mother’s company…. But we are together. Sitting close half snuggled up together, safe, and comfortable and there is a gentle calm and the dogs sleep beside us. I can not think of a more perfect moment filled with love. This is as good as it gets.
We are starting a new tradition here at Cafe Primrose, and it feels good to be breaking new ground. What feels even better is to be doing our share to help the homemade/handmade movement by shining a monthly spotlight on someone awesome.
We live in a lovely old house in East Arlington MA, on a very nice street somewhere between Spy Pond and The Mystic River. It’s a very nice location for city dwellers, though I would love to throw off the shackles of the city one day in the not too distant future. For now, this area is home.
