The Ghost That Lives In Winter’s Heart

Winter Ghost Of An Old Dairy Farm

Winter Ghost Of An Old Dairy Farm

Yesterday, we took our furballs for another walk to one of my favorite nature rich places, home. My dad still lives in the family homestead which was once an old Lexington MA dairy farm called Greenfield Dairy. It burned down long before my family bought the place. All that remains are the shed and carriage house and the lovely green barn in back and the large beautiful farm house that I spent my teens in.

We love to walk our dogs out where once the fields used to be…. Where the animals used to live. It has not even benn 100 years yet and already, what once was has been taken over by the spirit of nature in such a beautiful way. Someone saw some of my other photos of this place on Facebook, and told me I should do a series showing it in every season. I think I will. To see what it looks like in the fall, The Home I Always Return To offers many beautiful photos.

Well, that ends our little journey through the heart of winter in the ghost of an old dairy farm. This is always fun for us because even more than the nature, we like to see our furballs smile.
