Wildflower Farm House in Autumn.

Wildflower Farm House in Autumn.

The winds have changed, bringing an end to an unbelievably hot summer the likes of which none in this region have seen before in recorded history. Which makes me feel really good about buying this place and settling here just over two years ago. One of the reasons we came here, was to change the way we were living. To be more sustainable to eat healthier, and to try to live in a less abusive way to the planet. Every little bit we do counts and helps on that front. I can only imagine how horrible it would be based on how horrible it was this summer if so many people in the world were not waking up with us to the cold hard reality that in 200 years if we don’t all make major changes now, we won’t have any planet left.
So, as you can imagine, the coolness of the autumn breeze feels amazing. It was a hard summer.

Autumn, is my favorite time of year. There is just this perfection when the wild flowers still bloom and the leaves change to magical colors all around us. The pumpkins are growing big and strong and the harvest is ready to enjoy….

Inside, we decorate for autumn, and we make the house pretty bringing the autumn inside making our house ready for the wonderful fall holidays that I cherish so much, Halloween and Thanks Giving. This year Thanks Giving will happen here. We look forward to the warm spices that are starting to come out. And we look forward to the friends and family gathering for the big holiday, before the snows fall and winter settles over New England, causing us to hibernate for the long cold season.

But now, we will enjoy the cool breeze, the autumn sun, the warm spices, and the harvest.
