Right about now the old Mr. Rogers song “it’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood….” runs through my head. Because it truly is beautiful here by the sea where the stars shine bright above us like little holes in a dark blanket that blinds us to the sunlight we get to play beneath all day. I can smell the ocean and I hear the seagulls screaming. For me, one of the hardest things has always been to be too far from the ocean to visit it with any regularity. Once again at the Cape! I am afraid so far all we have photographed is a bird we saw that we thought was rather pretty.
Yesterday, was a pleasant day, a fair at a school in Medford. Very fun to hang out, I met some interesting crafters and saw some really great stuff. Such as, My London Sun and Ginger Cat Candle Company, among other incredible folks out there with us sharing their incredible work. It was a very interesting time and I am quite glad I did it. More for the people I met than for any other real reason. It seems the local crafters in this area are amazingly nice and wonderful and impeccably skilled at their craft, so it was really fun and interesting to go and do this fair.
It’s that time of year again, a time for warmth and a glow in the darkness. Time to light the path to the new year while our world sits at it’s most darkened point. Every holiday that happens this time of year is a festival of lights. Here, we are having our own festival of lights while we prepare for the upcoming craft show on the 7th.
